Chinese steel output in Jan-MayIn the first five months of this year, Chinese steel output continued to rise. According to the National Bureau of Statistics, from January to May this year, Chinese crude steel output was around 370 million tons, up by 5.4% year-on-year; steel output was 435 million tons roughly, up by 6.2%- year-on-year.
As for import and export, customs data showed that China exported about 28 million tons of steel from January to May, down by 16.3% year-on-year; imported steel 6 million tons of steel, down- by 0.7% year-on-year.
In the first half of this year, Chinese steel products suffered a total of 21 trade remedy investigation cases, an increase of 11 cases compared to the same period last year.
